About
## Artist-run Centre for Contemporary Visual Arts
Founded in 1984, Eastern Edge is Newfoundland and Labrador’s first artist-run centre for contemporary visual arts. Located in the heart of downtown St. John’s, it’s a vibrant hub for adventurous art and diverse voices—showcasing local, national, and international artists who explore themes of identity, culture, and social change.
With two dynamic galleries, a public art library, and a versatile studio space, Eastern Edge offers free, year-round programming that invites everyone to experience and engage with contemporary art. Don’t miss the HOLD FAST Festival each August—a city-wide celebration of performance, installation, and community creativity.
Whether you’re a casual visitor or a devoted art lover, Eastern Edge is a welcoming space where creativity thrives and every artist has a place.
